Amongst the 3 main types of textile printers we use here at Banner Box, is the Roland SJ-740 dye-sublimation printer.
Excellent in terms of quality and reliability, this 1.8 metre wide-format printer from Japanese manufacturer Roland DG Corporation, has quickly become an invaluable part of our print service. Having only been recently purchased to stand alongside it’s sister product — the XJ-640 — the SJ-740 is used for many of our textile products, and is used on jobs where we want to print directly to fabric or canvas via dye-sublimation.
The SJ-740 uses eco-solvent ink, also known as “mild solvent”, because of it’s durable yet environmentally-friendly production process. Becoming increasingly popular in the past few years, eco-solvent ink is just as reliable as non-eco-solvent, but helps make the print process much more sustainable in the face of environmental concerns. They also have the added bonus of not creating fumes of odours, which is definitely a bonus! The inks are resistant to water and UV light, and can be printed at a staggeringly high resolution of 1,400 x 1,400 dpi (dots per inch).
All in all, the SJ-740 has become another fantastic addition to the Banner Box team!
We hope to add a gallery of photos of our SJ-740 to this page soon, please bear with us!
